Historic Meets Modern

Crested Butte, CO

The Daisy Mine Guest House is an extensive remodel which involved lifting the original 1878 home and installing a new foundation.  The shell of the home was preserved while the interior was completely redone with modern finishes and historical features like a fireplace mantle crafted from a 100-year-old salvaged timber.   The finished remodel earned a 2016 Honorable Mention for rehabilitation and addition to a historic building from the Crested Butte Board of Zoning and Architectural Review (BOZAR).

Owner’s Goal: A family home while preserving the very historic house in Crested Butte.

   Technologies:

    • Historic wood preservation
    • Elevating house for new foundation
    • High Performance air sealing
    • Mountain modern aesthetic while preserving the historic qualities
